NATS NATIONAL CONFERENCE UPDATE
The National Associate of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Conference is a wrap and it couldn’t have gone better. We saw so many people come through our booth in the exhibit hall who were beyond excited that there was a resource available to introduce living composers to young singers. I got to meet lots of composers and some of my favorite working singers but mostly, I got to meet tons of teachers. It was very gratifying to have so many teachers that are using the books bring their friends to our booth and talk about how much they use the books and what a great resource they are.
MMNS composers Rachel DeVore Fogarty and Liam Moore took 1st and 2nd place in the 1st ever NATS SONG SLAM Competition. If you’ve never been to a Song Slam before they are so much fun. The winners are determined by the vote of the audience so it’s a very interactive experience. Some of the other MMNS composers that stopped by our booth were Michael Ching and Richard Pearson Thomas! Songs by Joseph Stillwell and Wayland Rogers were performed as a part of the NATS Intern Alumni Recital.
