About the cycle<\/strong>
\nWaiting can be an intense and even surreal experience. In Daylight Saving, a woman\u2019s partner has
\ndeployed to war, and she doesn\u2019t know when \u2013 or if \u2013 she\u2019ll hear from them again. As time drags on, she
\nwaits at home for news and experiences various emotions, ranging from frustration, to nostalgia, to
\nresignation. This song cycle explores these various emotional stages in five movements, each of which
\ncorresponds to a consecutive month of her partner\u2019s departure and prolonged absence.
